Charles Beaumont is the pseudonym, and later became the legally adopted name, of Charles Leroy Nutt. He was born in Chicago in 1929.
A high-school dropout, he served briefly in the U.S. Army before taking up a career in writing in the early 1950s. His stories appeared in Infinity Science Fiction and magazines such as Playboy and Rogue.
Beaumont did lots of work for film and television, writing many scripts for Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone.
Beaumont died from Alzheimer’s disease in 1967. [edit]
