Virginia Coffman was an American author of gothic romance and fantasy novels.
She was born in San Francisco in 1914.
Before her writing career Coffman worked in the Hollywood studios (during the Golden and Silver years) and produced many TV scripts. She would also act from time to time.
She began writing in 1959 and that same year produced her first novel, Moura, the first book in the Anne Wicklow series. This novel was followed by The Devil Beyond Moura (1966), The Dark Gondola (1968), The Vampyre of Moura (1970), The Beckoning from Moura (1977), and Return to Moura (1999).
She also wrote a six-novel series entitled Lucifer Cove, containing the novels The Devil’s Mistress (1969), Priestess of the Damned (1970), The Devil’s Virgin (1970), Masque of Satan (1971), Chalet Diabolique (1971), and From Satan, with Love (1971).
Apart from her series Coffman has also published over ninety stand-alone novels.
She would sometimes write under the pseudonym Virginia C DuVaul.
