Del Rey, Lester
Lester Del Rey was born in 1915 and is a doyen of science fiction. He was one of the major writers in the Golden Age of Astoundingand is the author of several dozen science fiction books for adults and young people. At one time, he was appointed the fantasy editor of Ballantine Del Rey Books. He has also written science fiction as Edson McCann, Philip St John and Kenneth Wright, and collaborated with Raymond F Jones.
